Short but more modest takes on the look appeared at Valentino, in puffs of tiered tulle and lace; at Malandrino, where a cascading yellow ruffle was suspended from one slender strap; and at Thakoon, where a smart L.B.D. gently slouched down one arm, proving, once again, that less is more.
